Miguel:

Miguel continues to tell himself that he is useless and must not have a purpose in life because no one will hire him and he is met with dead ends when he attempts to receive rehabilitative services from the local state organization. Miguel is not living his preferred way in which he would like to "make more money than my wife."

Alicia:

Alicia's mother is focusing so much on Alicia's weight and how she is not like other young girls her same age. Alicia is not gaining weight, rather maintaining her little weight, and so she restrains her mother's view of what she is all about.
